Lintec Graphic Films becomes a member of the Green Building Council

Release date: Wednesday 03rd June 2015

In April 2015, Lintec Graphic Films became an associate of the UK Green Building Council, a charity and membership organisation which campaigns for a sustainable built environment. The UK-GBC encourages its 400+ members to influence and inform the Government on green building policies.

The Council has had a noticeable impact on a number of issues, such as zero carbon new build, retrofit of existing homes, and operational energy measurement and reporting. The organisation also aims to raise the level of sustainability education and leadership skills in the ‘built environment’ sector, by inspiring its members to share their experience and progress.

For Lintec, being a member represents an opportunity to advocate the use of more environmentally friendly materials in the production of films and adhesives. A wide range of the company’s films offer increased performance while also guaranteeing greater energy savings and higher light transmissions.

For instance, Lintec’s solar films are able to significantly decrease solar heat gain in rooms, and thereby help to reduce the use of air conditioning units in a number of environments, including commercial buildings.

Furthermore, the membership has opened a range of networking opportunities in the building and construction sector for Lintec, with a number of architects already approaching the company for their green solutions.

Susan Wood, Membership Development Manager at the UK-GBC, is pleased to welcome Lintec as a member of the Council: “We’re delighted to welcome Lintec Graphic Films as a member of the UK Green Building Council. We look forward to working with them to help achieve our shared vision of a built environment that enables a high quality of life for people, within the limits our planet can support.”
