Fujifilm’s annual Global Innovation Print Awards program gives Fujifilm production press owners worldwide an opportunity to showcase creative and technical excellence. Following last year’s expansion of the awards, this year marks the second time the competition has welcomed submissions from across the world. Out of a total of 170 submissions received from 14 countries around the world, 36 winners were selected – including two from Europe.

Bremen-based WEGNER GmbH was one of these European award winners. Founded in 1985, the company offers high quality digital printing for a wide range of print, including books, brochures, booklets and calendars. The company is a long-standing Fujifilm customer, having initially invested in Fujifilm’s flagship B2 inkjet press, the Jet Press 720S, in 2015 to support growing digital demand, and following impressive results, upgraded to the Jet Press 750S in August 2019, from where it has continued to see an increase in output, production speeds and flexibility. Additionally, the company installed the Revoria Press PC1120 in March 2022, initially to print digitally produced products using special effects.

Using both the Revoria Press PC1120 and the Jet Press 750S, WEGNER GmbH won three awards this year in the following categories: Book, Calendar and Swatch. This follows success in the same awards last year, when it became the inaugural winner of the “Best Innovation Award 2024 Global”, for its TWE Design Book created using the Revoria Press PC1120, Jet Press 750S and Acuity Select 48.

Impress Print Services, a family-owned business in the UK, is also a winner in three award categories – Direct mail, Swatch and Magazine.

In 2023, the company was in search of a machine that could help them expand capabilities and improve operational efficiency. The company installed Fujifilm’s Jet Press 750S High Speed Model, Revoria Press PC1120 and Revoria Press E1 Series. The investments allowed Impress to expand into new sectors, supporting in-house litho production, while remaining sustainable. Environmental credentials were a key driver in the decision to invest in Fujifilm’s solutions.
