Derwent Displays has hailed as a great success, a customer open-house event at its factory in Derbyshire, UK. The event on 14th September showcased the latest phase of the company’s successful partnership with Fujifilm and the huge range of possibilities provided by its investment in two Inca Digital Onset X platforms in the past two years. In particular, the event highlighted the range of short-run and personalised work that can now be rapidly and reliably turned around without any compromise to quality.

Fujifilm today announces that in Hall 21a, Stand E.01, at the IFRA World Publishing Expo 2018 (9-11 October, Berlin) it will introduce two new solutions to its newspaper portfolio, both reinforcing the company’s commitment to making newspaper production more profitable as part of its Superia initiative.

Based in Albstadt, southern Germany, Ebro Color is a modern, cardboard packaging print specialist with more than 90 years of history behind it. Founded in 1925, it has continually invested in new technologies over the years and now produces cardboard packaging and display units for a huge range of customers in a variety of sectors, from cosmetics, to food, jewellery and tourism.

Based in Bergisch Gladbach, Germany, KL Druck has a proud 120-year heritage and specialises in producing point of sale and out-of-home products for a range of high-profile global brands, including Audi, Adidas, Lindt and Primark. A screen printing pioneer in the years following the Second World War, the company began investing heavily in digital print technology around 20 years ago. Its latest investment, the Fujifilm Jet Press 720S, began operation in August 2018.

For the first time ever, visitors to Maison & Objet (M&O), will be able to see first-hand how they can create high-quality wallcoverings using digital print technology.

With seventeen factories across Europe, seven of them in the UK, CPI has its UK book cover printing in a single site in Croydon, south London and invested in a Jet Press 720S to ensure that its short-run book jackets, covers and illustrated sections are produced with the maximum quality and reliability. Based in Washington, north-east England, Simpson Group confirmed at FESPA 2018 that they would become the latest company to invest in Inca Digital’s ultra-high productivity Onset X3 with full automation, supplied by Fujifilm. Commercial Director Mark Jerrard and Production Director David Dowson, were at FESPA in Berlin in May to shake hands on the deal.

With the sale confirmed at FESPA 2018, the machine was installed and began operation at Echo House’s premises in Surbiton, Surrey in June.

As aluminium prices continue to rise and printers seek to economise where they can, Fujifilm UK today announces a radical new business process that allows printers to effectively administer or even outsource their plate production. PLATESENSE, a Fujifilm UK initiative, is a programme set to revolutionise the world of pre-press, as it gives printers the option of either reducing overall administration or allowing Fujifilm to help manage the plate production process so that they can concentrate on what matters most – running their business.
